Pediatric Outpatient Specialists
Our team of surgical specialists has a long history of service to patients and families of Miami. They have worked alongside our doctors in the Nicklaus Children’s Health System, bringing that same patient focus to the Surgery Center. Team members live in Miami and surrounding areas, and are neighbors and friends to the families they serve. They extend a welcoming hand to visitors from afar who entrust their children to our care. Many are native Spanish-speakers.
Nurses and clinical technicians are experienced in pediatric ambulatory surgery and have trained specially to assist our physicians. Our business specialists handle the details and paperwork to help you prepare and focus on your child’s recovery.
Ruben Reinis, MBA, BSN
Administrative Director
Ruben is a lifelong resident of Miami. He earned a master’s degree in business administration following a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Florida International University Miami. He has worked in the Nicklaus Children’s Health System since 2004, starting as a care assistant. His demonstrated leadership moved him into larger roles, first as an OR circulating nurse, then a clinical nurse coordinator and most recently nurse manager of surgical services.
In January 2018, Ruben was named one of 23 outstanding ASC leaders under age 40 by Becker’s ASC Review. The annual list recognizes young leaders making a significant impact in the ambulatory surgery industry.
Leandra Phillips
Supervisor of Business Operations
Leandra has been a member of the Surgery Center team since 2017. She assumed the Supervisor position following assignments in insurance verification and medical records management. She has held medical records and secretarial positions in other Miami health organizations, and in retail sales.
Sandeep Dave, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Dave earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. He completed a general surgery internship and 4-year otolaryngology residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Jenny Gutierrez, MSN, RN
Clinical Nurse Supervisor
Jenny has been a member of the Surgery Center team since 2016. She assumed the role as Clinical Nurse Supervisor in January 2022. In addition to her administrative role, she serves as an operating room nurse. Jenny is a licensed registered nurse by the Florida Board of Nursing. She earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees of nursing from Nova Southeastern University.
